Moose Jaw station (NS778)

In December 1888, Superintendent Thomas Tait and his staff posed on the platform of Moose Jaw's first station. Built in 1883, this simple wood-frame structure was typical of early CPR stations in Western Canada.

Station at Moose Jaw (A17502)

This Moose Jaw station, which replaced the original station built in 1883, had been open for about a year when this group posed on its platform in 1900. The building accommodated offices, waiting room, baggage area and lunch room, as well as a dining room and hotel rooms for about 30 guests.

The CPR station at Regina was an example of the simple standard design adopted in 1882 and repeated at dozens of locations across the Prairies.
