Safety-Critical Positions (SCP)

Disability Management Program - Return to Work Employee Process

In compliance with Canadian Railway Association Medical Guidelines and CP's own Fitness to Work & RTW policies, all employees occupying a safety critical position must provide medical information direct to Occupational Health Services within 72 hours of going off work for a medical absence.

Step 1 – Print FAF and take to Doctor for completion

Prior to taking your FAF in to the Doctor, the employee must complete parts two and three on the FAF.  The SCP FAF is located below:

Step 2 (Optional) - Select and print Job Demands Analysis (JDA)

The JDA is a tool describing the normal physical, psychological and environmental job demands of a particular position and may be used during your medical absence.  If you see your position listed below, please feel free to take this with you to your Doctor's appointment; however, it is not a requirement.
