Canadian Pacific is the only railway serving the Nisku Business Complex. With a set of daily service options in and out of Nisku, semi-manufactured, raw steel or metal fabrication inputs are delivered to the manufacturing community in Nisku. Our transloads in South Edmonton and Fort Saskatchewan ensure that construction and dimensional materials are being offloaded, with staging and storage services as required and transported by truck to the Edmonton Capital Region, the Alberta Industrial Heartland or the Oilsands production areas.
CP’s multi-modal footprint includes daily Intermodal services in and out of Edmonton, and daily service to the truck-to-rail transload facilities in and surrounding Edmonton, for metals, dry bulk and liquids. We provide truck-to-rail transloading of dilbit at Lambton Park, AB. We offer transportation solutions for products not compatible with traditional pipelines, such as petroleum coke, sulphur, asphaltine and various hydrocarbon liquids and gasses.

Our service into the new Strathcona Logistics Centre outside Edmonton, AB, will enable handling of construction materials – both for the Centre and for the oilsands upgraders:
- rebar, plate, beams, coil, piling
- dry bulk products and liquids
- dimensional cargo
CP directly serves the pipeline injection/terminating points at Hardisty and Edmonton/Fort Saskatchewan. With this dual-location access we provide input and output sourcing options for companies that need to leverage every margin differential. Our customers are bringing diluent required for bitumen transport into pipeline terminaling facilities in both Hardisty and Fort Saskatchewan.
With our proven rail expertise and capacity, we can help move synthetic crude and other refined products from Alberta to end markets, particularly when a pipeline connection does not exist, or if you are looking for a short-term or flexible capacity option. We also offer the ability to move unrefined or semi-upgraded products like bitumen or dilbit via rail in a mode complementary to the existing pipeline infrastructure. Our service allows customers to take advantage of spot market opportunities, or secure long-term supply options.
