Get Started with APIs

  1. Sign up for Customer Station:
  2. Instantly access the information you need to manage your shipments including:

    • Shipment tracing and reporting
    • Submit electronic shipping instructions
    • Request empty railcar equipment placements and releases
    • Diversions

  3. In Customer Station, register for the chosen API(s):
      1. Request access to both the Setup API and Manage API application tools.
      2. Once access is approved, activate both APIs using the link in your Customer Station inbox.
      3. Add both the Mock and Manage APIs of your choice. The Mock API is for testing and the Manage API is for live data.
      4. Once you created your API application, you will receive the credential information to perform the system-to-system connection. You will receive an email requesting your IP address, and then once completed, you will receive a completion email. 
      5. After testing with the Mock API, ensure your system connects with live data using the API credentials under Manage API Application.
