Employee Family Assistance Program

About your EFAP

Your EFAP is a confidential and voluntary support service that offers expert information and immediate support resources to help with work, health and life challenges. EFAP is available to all CP employees and your dependent family members, at no cost to you.

There is no pre-set limit to the number of counselling or work/life consultations employees can access, however in cases where the counsellor determines an employee's difficulties may be of a long-standing or chronic nature, referrals to external providers will be provided.

Please note that confidentiality and privacy are assured, within the limits of the law, to each employee and dependent family member who uses the EFAP. Contact is made directly to LifeWorks with no information on individual cases being reported back to CP.  If you hold a Safety Critical Position within the Railway you are required by the Railway Safety Act to advise your Physician and Occupational Health Services of any medical condition(s) or medication(s) that may affect your ability to work safely. The Office of the Chief Medical Officer, CP Occupational Health Services may be advised of any issue or condition that may impact Railway Safety.

Morneau Shepell has changed their name to LifeWorks, and with this name change, they are introducing their new online EFAP platform, effective November 8, 2021.
